Mini moon hotels in the Lake District

Lakes, fells and old stone villages in Cumbria, with more hotel rooms that come with their own hot tub than anywhere else we cover.

The Lake District is England's largest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For a minimoon it does two things well: big views from the room, and hotels built around spas and private hot tubs, so a rainy day still feels like a treat.

Most of the hotels below cluster around Windermere and Bowness. Grasmere, Borrowdale and Bassenthwaite are quieter and feel more remote.

When to go: Open all year. Autumn and winter are quieter and cosier; summer is busiest around Windermere.
